LOCAL SYDNEY ARTIST MARIE DANGERFIELD RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE “RIGHT NOW” FROM HER UPCOMING EP, GROOVE PHILOSOPHY
Marie Dangerfield is an independent artist based in Sydney who is releasing her debut single “Right Now” on Friday June 4 2021.
"Right Now" is the first song to be released from her upcoming EP, Groove Philosophy.
“Right Now” is about the euphoric feeling of being swept up in a new lustful relationship. That moment when you’re addicted to that one person and you see yourself with them together forever in magical love. Marie’s grandparents, now in their 80’s, are her iconic role model couple and still act like they are just as madly in love with each other now as when they were in their 20’s. Marie comments, “When you grow up seeing such love - you hope for that for yourself”. Being the hopeless romantic that she is, Marie expresses gratitude in this song for finding romantic love and her grand hopes and dreams for it to grow and last.
After sharing the song with a few industry people, a lot of the feedback was that it sounded like an energetic electro pop song reminiscent of the girl groups like Spice Girls. It was definitely what she was going for and thanks to the feedback, it gave birth to her idea of forming her very own pop group to promote the song.
It was produced by David Skeet (The Venetians) and Marie herself, mixed by David Skeet and mastered by Ben Feggans (Studio 301). Her inspiration for its soundscape came from pop acts of the late 90’s and early 2000’s like Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. This song is sweet and fun like a piece of Groovy Grape Hubba Bubba bubble gum that you can’t resist to pop!
